Euro FAQ
When is the deadline for exchanging the EMU-countries’ old currencies?FOREX Bank will exchange banknotes from the EMU-countries’ old currencies for at least 10 years, with the exception of Dutch Guilders and Slovenian Tolars.
In what denominations is the Euro available?
Banknote denominations are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 och 500.
Coins are available in 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent and 1, 2 EUR.
Can the Euro coins be used in all EMU-countries, even though they have national designs on the reverse?
All Euro coins are legal tender in all EMU countries.
What security details do the EURO notes and coins have?
There are a lot of forged Euros in circulation in Sweden and abroad. They can easily be discovered if you know what you are looking for.
