The Cabo Verdean escudo has a fixed rate against the euro, at a rate 1 € = 110.38 CVE. This official rate is however not used when exchanging euros to escudos (or when buying something with euros). The most used rate is 1 € = 100 CVE. In many places euros can be used as mean of payment. You might get change in both euros and escudos. If you can´t exchange escudos in Finland, you can exchange your euros in Capo Verde at the local exchange office. The rates are usually better for cash withdrawals in Cabo Verde but keep in mind that your card issuer might charge you additional fees. A service fee of 200 CVE (2 €) is also charged for each withdrawal. ATM´s can be found in the larger rural areas and in tourist resorts.
