Columbia - Columbian peso (COP)
Cash is the most used mean of payment in Columbia. Card payments can be done in the larger shops and shopping centers. In other places cards are rarely accepted. A good alternative is to bring both US dollars (USD) and Columbian pesos (COP) in to the country. In some places euros will also be exchanged. Remember that the notes need to be in mint condition. When exchanging currencies in Colombia a passport is always required. In some places you need to provide your finger print as well. If you intend to withdraw cash from an ATM, do it before noon as the ATM might be out of cash later on.
